The Latonia Congress Murder Trial Verdict
After a trial lasting weeks and a long jury deliberation, the Latonia Congress murder trial came to an emotional end at Vermont Superior Court in Burlington on Saturday, May 21, 2011. Congress was found guilty of second degree murder after killing her niece Shatavia “CeCe” Alford, 16, who was stabbed in the chest with a kitchen knife in Essex on Oct. 15, 2009.
